Transportation
plays an important role in the investigation of industries. It not just
facilitates the transportation of products and capitals of industries, but also
signifies the industrial development in various regions in China.
Since
the establishment of the China PRC government, China has based a great effort in
improving the transportation network in China. Construction works on Highways,
railways and Harbors had started ever since, gradually building a gigantic
network in China.
Highways
Transport products, capital goods and other
necessities through a complex highway system. Length of Highway opened to
traffic up to more than 1 698 000 km. 19 000 km of national expressways.
Nation? highway density has reached 17.7 km/100 sq. k. The construction of
highways in poverty-stricken areas has also been speeded up with great
improvements in highways reaching central and western China.
Harbors
Transport Products and capital goods in and out of
China. The main mean of import and export transportation. Focused on Coal,
containers, iron ore and roll-on-roll-off ships, as well as deep-water access to
the sea. Development of Container Transport system in Southern China and Hong
Kong. Development of Deep-water container wharves at Dalin, TianJin, Qingdao,
Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen and Shenzhen. Total Handling capacity of berths over
988 million tons.
Railways
Transport products, capital goods and other
necessities through a complex railway system. Railways have reached 70 100 km,
including 22 600 km of multiple tracked railways and 17 000 km of electrified
railways. Currently developing railway system to Western China including Tibet
and Xinjiang. National Railways system to neighboring countries such as Russia,
Vietnam and Middle Asia.
