In collaboration with SRC, LLC and Demographic Consulting, Inc. (DCI), the China Data Center is offering China demographic maps and Census data reports in the following desktop and web-based delivery systems:
• http://DemographicsChina.org (web-based service)
• AllocateChina (desktop-based, delivered on CD/DVD)
Both the web-based and desktop  systems integrate many advanced functions for GIS mapping and demographic data reports.
This valuable and unprecedented data source and toolkit report more demographics, down to smaller geographic units, than ever before: 
-   Over 1,500 unique demographic variables
-   Geographic data, including province, prefecture, county, and approximate township boundaries
-   Precise data retrieval for radius and polygon trade areas
-   2000 population Census data for over 50,000 townships in China
-   Population estimates for 9.6 million square kilometer grids
